SANTIAGO, Chile (Interstat) — CSD Colo-Colo opened its Primera División season with a commanding 4-1 victory over Union La Calera on Sunday at Estadio Monumental David Arellano. The home side dominated early, with Lucas Cepeda, Javier Correa and Víctor Méndez all scoring within the first 25 minutes to build an insurmountable lead. Ignacio Mesías added a fourth goal for Colo-Colo in the 55th minute before Union La Calera’s Salomón Rodríguez scored a late consolation goal in the 85th. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had given Colo-Colo a high probability to win but simulated a 1-1 draw.
