SANTIAGO, Chile (Interstat) — Audax Italiano scored twice in the final minutes to defeat Everton 2-0 in a Chilean Primera División match Friday at Estadio Bicentenario Municipal de La Florida.

Luis Riveros broke a scoreless tie in the 87th minute before defender Esteban Matus sealed the victory in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time. The result defied pregame projections that favored the visitors.

The win gives Audax Italiano a victory to start its league campaign, while Everton begins the season with a loss.
