Late Butterfield Strike Earns Swindon Town Draw Against Accrington Stanley
SWINDON, England (Interstat) — Substitute Luke Butterfield scored in second-half stoppage time as Swindon Town rallied for a 2-2 draw with Accrington Stanley in a League Two match Saturday at The Nigel Eady County Ground.
Josh Woods gave the visitors a lead just 60 seconds into the match. Swindon’s Ollie Palmer equalized in the 18th minute, but Aaron Drinan restored Accrington’s advantage two minutes later. The hosts pressed and were rewarded when Butterfield netted the leveler in the 92nd minute. Accrington’s Liam Coyle received a yellow card in the 63rd minute.
The result extended Swindon’s unbeaten home form, while Accrington, which had lost three straight, secured a valuable away point. The draw contrasted with pregame projections that heavily favored a Swindon victory.
