Defensa y Justicia vs Indep Rivadavia

BUENOS AIRES (Interstat) — Two struggling sides will meet Monday when Defensa y Justicia hosts Independiente Rivadavia in a Primera Nacional fixture, with both clubs desperate for a win to salvage their seasons.

The matchup at Estadio Norberto Tomaghello pits a pair of teams mired near the bottom of the Argentine second division. Defensa y Justicia (3-7-3) holds a slight edge in the league table over Indep Rivadavia (2-7-6), but neither has found consistent form. Their struggles extend across all competitions, with Defensa at 15-22-14 overall and Indep Rivadavia at 13-15-15.

Defensa y Justicia enters on a two-game losing streak, most recently falling 1-0 to Racing Club on Nov. 8. Their last victory was a 1-0 result against Argentinos Juniors on Oct. 10.

Indep Rivadavia is winless in its last four outings, playing to a scoreless draw with Central Cordoba on Nov. 10. The team’s attack has been anemic, failing to score in five of its last six matches.

The most recent head-to-head meeting, however, was a high-scoring affair. Indep Rivadavia earned a 3-2 victory when the teams met on May 2.

Statistical projections present a conflicting outlook. Interstat’s ELO system gives Defensa y Justicia a 60.20 percent probability to win, while the same outlet’s game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw.

Kickoff is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.
