LANÚS, Buenos Aires (Interstat) — Lanus opened its Primera Nacional campaign with a decisive 3-1 victory over Atletico Tucuman on Friday at Estadio Ciudad de Lanús, defying a pregame projection that favored the visitors.

Jose Domínguez opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute, followed by a goal from substitute Ramiro Ruiz in the 32nd. After halftime, Eduardo Salvio and Marcelino Moreno netted in the 72nd and 76th minutes to secure the win. Atletico Tucuman’s lone goal came from Moreno in the 76th.

The result gives Lanus a winning start to the season, while Atletico Tucuman begins with a loss. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 2-1 win for Atletico Tucuman.
