ABŪ ẒABĪ, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Substitute Anatole Abang scored in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw for visiting Al Bataeh CSC against Baniyas SCC in an Arabian Gulf League match Sunday at Baniyas Club Stadium.

Youssoufou Niakaté had given the home side the lead in the 39th minute. Abang, who also assisted on Niakaté’s goal, secured the dramatic equalizer just before the final whistle. The result left both teams with identical records of 0 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw to open their league campaigns. The match featured four yellow cards, issued to Mahamadou Camara, Farhad Majidi, Otabek Shukurov and Abang. The final score matched a pregame projection, though Baniyas had entered as a heavy favorite.
