SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC opened its Arabian Gulf League season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Al Bataeh CSC on Wednesday.

Playing at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium, the visitors established control early. Substitute Mateusão scored twice in the first half, finding the net in the 8th and 27th minutes. Fellow substitute Federico Cartabia added a third goal in the 38th minute, assisted by forward Anatole Abang.

Yahya Al Ghassani, another substitute, completed the rout with a 57th-minute goal. The lopsided result defied a pregame projection that favored Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC but predicted a closer match. Al Bataeh CSC’s Anatole Abang received a yellow card in the 8th minute.

The win gives Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC a perfect start in league play, while Al Bataeh CSC begins its campaign with a loss.
