DUBAY, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Sharjah FC delivered a major upset Tuesday, defeating Al Nasr CSC 4-2 at Al Maktoum Stadium in an Arabian Gulf League match. The visitors defied a pregame projection that gave the home side a 79% probability to win.

Sharjah established an early lead with goals from Kevin Agudelo in the seventh minute and Salem Sultan in the 11th. Al Nasr cut the deficit to 2-1 just after halftime with a 60th-minute goal from substitute Caio Fernandes, but Ousmane Camara restored Sharjah’s two-goal advantage three minutes later. Fernandes scored again in the 68th minute for Al Nasr, but Sharjah substitute Caio Fernandes sealed the victory with his second goal of the match.

The result opens the league season with Sharjah at 1-0 and Al Nasr at 0-1.
