BUCHAREST, Romania (Interstat) — Sporting Liesti hosts Metalul Buzau on Thursday in a Cupa României matchup, with the visitors looking to rebound from a weekend defeat.

The match at Liesti’s stadium kicks off at 7 p.m. local time on Dec. 4.

Metalul Buzau (6-4-1) enters following a 2-0 loss at CSM Resita on Sunday, which snapped a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions. That streak included a 1-1 draw with powerhouse Steaua Bucuresti on Nov. 22 and a 2-0 win at Dinamo Bucuresti on Nov. 8, highlighting their capability for results against top opposition.

Sporting Liesti’s form is less current, with its most recent recorded result a 3-3 draw with ASC Otelul Galati on Oct. 28. The club has shown a potent attack in earlier fixtures, scoring multiple goals in five consecutive matches prior to that draw.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation.

Following the cup tie, Metalul Buzau returns to Liga II action on Dec. 6 against CSM Ceahlăul Piatra Neamţ. Sporting Liesti’s next scheduled match is a cup fixture against Csikszereda on Feb. 11, 2026.
