BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (Interstat) — Cruzeiro opened its Carioca Série A campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Paulista on Sunday at Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto. Kaio Jorge scored twice in the first half, finding the net in the 26th and 49th minutes. Midfielder Keny Arroyo, who also assisted on a goal, added a third in the 64th minute. The match was a physical affair, with Paulista’s José Andrés Martínez receiving a red card in the 83rd minute. The result matched the projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which heavily favored the home side.
