RIO DE JANEIRO (Interstat) — Vasco da Gama looks to continue its recent dominance over Bahia when the Brazilian clubs meet Sunday in a Carioca Série A fixture.

The matchup at Bahia’s home ground comes just two months after Vasco secured a 3-1 victory over Bahia on Sept. 24. Vasco, however, enters the contest seeking to rebound from a 2-0 loss to Gremio on Wednesday. That defeat extended a difficult stretch for the club, which has lost four of its last five matches, including recent losses to Botafogo, Sao Paulo and Juventude.

Bahia also looks to bounce back from a midweek defeat, having fallen 3-2 to Fortaleza on Thursday. The club’s form has been inconsistent, mixing impressive wins, such as a 4-0 rout of Gremio and a 1-0 victory over Flamengo, with several lopsided losses.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Vasco da Gama is projected to win 2-1.

Following this match, Vasco da Gama will host Internacional next Friday, while Bahia will travel to face Juventude the same day.
