CAIRO (Interstat) — ZED began its Egyptian Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Modern SC on Wednesday at Cairo International Stadium.

Two goals in a three-minute span decided the match. Ahmed Adel Messi opened the scoring in the 61st minute, followed by Mahmoud Saber’s strike in the 64th. Defender Ahmed Tarek and substitute Emad Hamdi each recorded an assist.

The result gave ZED a winning start to the domestic campaign, while Modern SC began with a loss. The outcome exceeded the projection of Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 1-0 ZED victory. The home side was a heavy pre-match favorite with a 72% win probability according to the same service’s ELO system.
