Reims U19 vs Pau
REIMS, France (Interstat) — Reims U19 hosts Pau on Saturday in a Ligue 2 matchup that a simulation projects as a 2-1 home victory.
Reims enters seeking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to Montfermeil U19 on Sunday. Pau also fell in its last outing, losing 3-1 at home to Nancy on May 2.
Pau’s season has been erratic. In its last 10 games, the visiting side has posted only three wins — a 2-1 victory at Guingamp on April 17, a 1-0 win at Amiens AC U19 on April 10 and a 3-0 shutout at Red Star on Feb. 6. But Pau has been prone to heavy defeats, including a 5-1 loss at FC Annecy on April 24 and a 4-0 loss at Le Mans FC on April 6. Three of Pau’s last six matches have resulted in losses by multiple goals. The team has managed just one clean sheet in that span, a 0-0 draw with Montpellier on March 20.
Reims U19 has shown a modest bounce-back capacity. Following a pair of defeats on April 18 — a 2-0 loss at Amiens AC U19 and a 3-2 win over Red Star — Reims responded with a 3-0 victory at Saint-Priest U19 on April 19. The home side has struggled for consistency, with draws outnumbering wins. Reims has tied four of its last eight contests, including a 1-1 result against Dijon U19 on April 12 and a 2-2 draw at Stade Lavallois Mayenne FC on April 10.
The clubs share a common opponent in Boulogne. Reims played Boulogne to a 0-0 draw on April 4, while Pau lost 2-1 at home to Boulogne on Feb. 13.
Both teams enter Saturday’s match with uncertain form. Pau has dropped four of its last five, while Reims has lost two of its last three.
Reims U19’s next fixture after Saturday’s match is against Metz U19, also at home, on May 9. Pau’s schedule following the Reims trip was not immediately available.
Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday in Reims.
