Dortmund, Frankfurt Draw in Six-Goal Bundesliga Thriller

FRANKFURT, Germany (Interstat) — Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt played to a wild 3-3 draw in their Bundesliga opener Friday at Deutsche Bank Park, defying pregame projections.

Maximilian Beier gave Dortmund a 10th-minute lead. Felix Nmecha equalized in the 68th, but Younes Ebnoutalib put Frankfurt ahead just three minutes later. The match exploded in stoppage time. Mahmoud Dahoud leveled for Dortmund in the 92nd minute before Carney Chukwuemeka appeared to win it for Frankfurt in the 95th.

The result contradicted statistical models that heavily favored a Frankfurt victory. Six yellow cards were issued in the contentious match. Both clubs begin the league campaign with a draw.
