Gwangju vs Ulsan

GWANGJU, South Korea (Interstat) — A tight contest is expected when Gwangju hosts rival Ulsan in a K League 1 match on Saturday, with the season series split and recent form pointing toward a stalemate.

The two clubs have traded wins in their last two meetings. Ulsan (12- 8- 10) earned a 2-0 victory at home on Oct. 18, while Gwangju (11- 9- 10) secured a 1-0 home win on July 2. A draw in late May further underscores the competitive balance. According to the Interstat game simulator, another draw is projected with a final score of 1-1.

Ulsan arrives following a 1-0 victory over Suwon on Nov. 9. The winning goal was a product of late substitutions, with Pablo Sabbag and Luan Dias each recording an assist after entering the match. Gwangju looks to rebound from a 1-0 road loss to Daegu on Nov. 8.

Form has been inconsistent for both sides. Ulsan has struggled for goals, with a 3-0 loss to Gimcheon Sangmu and a scoreless draw with Anyang in recent weeks. Gwangju’s results have been similarly mixed, featuring a 4-2 win over Suwon but also a pair of 3-0 losses to FC Seoul.

Saturday’s match will be the final fixture for both clubs before the international break. Ulsan will next host Jeju United on Nov. 30, while Gwangju travels to face Suwon on the same date.
