TOULOUSE, France (Jan. 17, 2026) (Interstat) — Toulouse opened its Ligue 1 season with a commanding 5-1 victory over Nice on Saturday at Stadium de Toulouse, far exceeding pregame projections.

Forward Santiago Hidalgo led the rout with two goals and an assist. Frank Magri, substitute Elye Wahi and Cristian Cásseres Jr. also scored, building a 4-0 lead before Julián Vignolo netted Nice’s lone goal in the 80th minute.

The result defied Interstat’s game simulator, which had projected a 1-1 draw. Its system gave Toulouse a 71.9% win probability. Toulouse begins the campaign with a win, while Nice starts with a loss.
