Sassuolo and Lazio Women Seek Momentum in Serie A Clash

ROME (Interstat) — Two sides looking to halt recent slides will meet Monday when US Sassuolo Calcio hosts Lazio W in a Serie A Women’s fixture at the MAPEI Stadium - Città del Tricolore.

The match, scheduled for Dec. 8, 2025, pits a Sassuolo team eager to turn draws into wins against a Lazio side mired in a scoring drought.

Lazio (3-5-0) arrives after back-to-back 2-0 losses, most recently at home to FC Internazionale Milano on Nov. 23 and before that on the road against AS Roma on Nov. 16. The Roman club has failed to score in three consecutive matches across all competitions. Their attack, which showed promise in early October wins over Genoa and Como, has since stalled against the league’s top half.

Sassuolo (1-5-2), meanwhile, has shown resilience but a lack of finishing touch. They are coming off a hard-fought 2-2 draw at powerhouse AC Milan on Nov. 23, demonstrating an ability to compete with the league’s best. However, that result is part of a larger pattern; the Neroverde have drawn four of their last six matches. A 1-0 home loss to Ternana on Nov. 15 underscores their struggle to secure points from winnable fixtures.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the trends point toward another stalemate, with a projected final score of 1-1.

The matchup may hinge on which team can rediscover a consistent scoring threat. Lazio will rely on a defense that kept clean sheets in two of its three wins this season. Sassuolo will look to leverage its home pitch, where it earned a point against Juventus in October, to control proceedings.

History adds intrigue, as Lazio’s last victory came against Napoli on Nov. 9, while Sassuolo’s lone win was a 1-0 result over Como on Oct. 18.

Following Monday’s contest, Lazio returns home to face Parma Calcio 1913 on Dec. 14. Sassuolo travels to face Genoa CFC Women the same day.
