Anderlecht vs Sint-Truiden

BRUSSELS (Interstat) — A surging Sint-Truiden side will look to capitalize on a vulnerable Anderlecht when the Belgian First Division A rivals meet at Lotto Park on Saturday.

The match is a stark contrast in recent momentum. Visiting Sint-Truiden arrives on a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions, including a statement 3-2 victory over Club Brugge last Saturday. Their last defeat came against Genk on Sept. 28.

Anderlecht, meanwhile, is reeling from a stunning 4-0 away defeat to Westerlo last Sunday. That result snapped a five-match winning streak across all competitions for the Brussels club, which had been anchored by a stout defense that conceded just once in that span.

The head-to-head history suggests a tight contest. The teams played to a 2-2 draw in Sint-Truiden on Oct. 19. Anderlecht holds the historical edge at home but has managed just one win in its last four league matches at Lotto Park.

Sint-Truiden’s attack, led by its recent upset of Brugge, will test an Anderlecht back line that was dismantled a week ago. Anderlecht will rely on its strong home form earlier in the season, which included wins over Union St-Gilloise and Gent, to regain its footing.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Anderlecht is projected to edge the contest with a 2-1 victory.

The match kicks off at 6 p.m. local time (1700 GMT).
