HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Stony Brook Seawolves defeated the Hofstra Pride 2-1 in an NCAA men’s soccer match on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025. The result was an upset, as Hofstra was heavily favored to win by statistical projections. Hofstra midfielder Laurie Goddard scored a goal in the 82nd minute, assisted by Stefano Campisi, but the late effort was not enough to overcome Stony Brook’s two goals. A crowd of 325 attended the match. With the result, Stony Brook improved to 5-3-3 in the competition, while Hofstra moved to 7-2-3.
