SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — A clash of Liga Puerto Rico titans is set for Saturday as the undefeated Metropolitan visits a surging Ponce FC in a highly anticipated rematch.

Metropolitan (9-0-0) enters the contest with a perfect record and the top spot in the league, having outscored opponents 46-3 this season. Their dominance was on full display last Saturday in an 11-0 rout of San Juan. Ponce FC (8-2-0) sits just behind in the standings, riding a four-game winning streak, including a 4-1 victory at Guayama on Wednesday.

The visiting side boasts a potent offense, averaging over five goals per game. Their only close call this season was a 2-1 victory over this same Ponce FC squad on Sept. 14. In that game, Metropolitan secured the win after Ponce FC scored first, demonstrating the resilience that has defined their campaign.

Ponce FC, whose only two losses this season came against Metropolitan and Academia Quintana, has been nearly as formidable. They have scored four or more goals in six of their eight victories. Playing at home, they will look to avenge their earlier narrow defeat and hand Metropolitan its first loss.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the closely fought trend is expected to continue, projecting a 2-1 win for Metropolitan.

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, in Ponce.
