STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Wagner Seahawks defeated the Howard Lady Bison 3-2 in an NCAA women’s soccer match on Thursday.

Alana Goldsmith, Izzy Gomez and Anayah Rivera each scored a goal for Wagner, which avenged a 2-1 loss to Howard from Sept. 25. The Seahawks improved to 9-2-2 this season, while the Lady Bison fell to 8-4-2.

The game defied projections from Interstat, which gave Wagner a 69.7% probability to win but had only projected a 1-0 final score. The teams combined for five goals in the tightly contested match.
