HERNING, Denmark (Interstat) — Danish Cup action resumes Thursday as Midtjylland hosts rival Nordsjaelland in a DBU Pokalen quarterfinal, just days after the teams met in league play.

The match at MCH Arena follows Midtjylland’s emphatic 6-0 Superliga victory over Nordsjaelland this past Sunday. That result reversed a 1-0 loss from their previous meeting in September.

Midtjylland enters with momentum, unbeaten in its last 10 matches across all competitions, including a 2-2 draw with Viborg last weekend. Its attack has been potent, scoring three or more goals in five of those outings.

Nordsjaelland seeks a swift response after the heavy defeat. Its form has been inconsistent, with a 5-0 win over Fredericia on Nov. 23 preceded by losses to Brondby and Odense. The Wild Tigers have shown they can score in bursts but have also been shut out in four of their last 10 games.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for the home side.

The winner advances to the cup semifinals. Nordsjaelland returns to Superliga action Sunday against Silkeborg.
