WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Interstat) — The Stony Brook Seawolves defeated the Monmouth Hawks 1-0 in an NCAA women’s soccer game Sunday. The visiting Seawolves avenged a 3-1 loss to the Hawks from Sept. 28, overcoming pregame projections that heavily favored Monmouth. The decisive goal came in the second half, securing the road victory before an announced crowd of 497. With the win, Stony Brook improved to 7-3-1. Monmouth fell to 5-2.
