BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — Azaria Fagan scored the game’s only goal Sunday to lift the Canisius Golden Griffins to a 1-0 NCAA women’s soccer victory over the Marist Red Foxes.

Fagan, a forward, found the net for the Golden Griffins (6-5-1) in the match attended by 375 fans. She was assisted on the play by midfielder Skylar Cornell and defender Meghan Joerger. The Marist (5-6-3) offense was held scoreless.

The result avenged a 2-0 loss for Canisius at Marist on Oct. 18. The Golden Griffins’ defense secured the shutout victory despite Interstat’s game simulator projecting a 2-1 final score.
