Germany U19 Routs Faroe Islands in Record UEFA Qualifying Victory
DUISBURG, Germany (Interstat) — Germany’s under-19 women’s national team delivered a dominant performance Saturday, overwhelming the Faroe Islands 8-0 in a UEFA U19 Championship qualifying match at Sportschule Wedau.
The hosts scored early and often, with Zoe Schick opening the scoring in the sixth minute. Defenders Maria Penner and Felicia Sophie Sträßer each scored twice in the lopsided victory. Amy Wrigge, Kassandra Potsi and Rosa Rückert also found the net for Germany, which far exceeded a pregame projection of a 2-1 win. The result opens the qualifying campaign for Germany, while the Faroe Islands begin with a loss.
