DUISBURG, Germany (Interstat) — Spain’s under-19 women’s national team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday, routing the Faroe Islands 8-0 in a UEFA U19 Championship qualification match.

The offensive outburst at Leichtathletikstadion BZA Wedau III far exceeded a pregame projection of a 2-0 Spain victory. Forwards Celia Segura and Alba Cerrato led the attack, each scoring two goals. Spain built a 6-0 lead by halftime and improved its record to 1-0 in the qualifying group. The Faroe Islands fell to 0-1. Spain next faces Belgium U19 on Saturday, while the Faroe Islands play Germany U19.
