LIMA, Peru (Interstat) — Sport Boys and UTC Cajamarca played to a 2-2 draw Sunday in a Peruvian Primera División match at Estadio Miguel Grau del Callao. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side. Substitute Joaquín Aguirre opened the scoring for the visitors in the 12th minute, but Sport Boys defender Hansell Riojas equalized before halftime. UTC Cajamarca’s Juan Vega, also a substitute, scored in the 69th minute to reclaim the lead, but a late goal secured the draw for the hosts. The match was a physical contest, featuring four yellow cards. Both clubs now hold an 0-0-1 record to start the league season.
