GUAYAMA, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — Two of Liga Puerto Rico’s most struggling sides will meet Sunday when Guayama hosts Mayaguez in a matchup of teams with a combined three wins this season.

The game pits a Guayama squad (1-9-0) against a Mayaguez team (2-6-0) that has been outscored 53-9 in league play. Both clubs share identical records across all competitions.

Mayaguez enters on a three-game losing streak, including a staggering 16-1 defeat to Acad Quintana on Oct. 18. Their only league victory was a 2-0 win at San Juan on Sept. 20.

Guayama’s lone victory was a 2-1 home win against San Juan on Sept. 27. Since then, they have been outscored 18-1 in three consecutive losses, including a 10-1 defeat to Caguas Sporting on Oct. 19.

Despite the home team’s record, the Interstat game simulator projects a 4-1 victory for Guayama.

Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
