Caguas Sporting vs Escuela de Futbol Taurinos de Cayey

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Interstat) — Caguas Sporting, one of the top teams in the Liga Puerto Rico, will host a struggling Escuela de Futbol Taurinos de Cayey on Saturday in a rematch of a closely contested September fixture.

The match, scheduled for Nov. 1, 2025, pits two clubs on vastly different trajectories. Caguas Sporting enters with a formidable 7-3-1 record in league play, having scored a staggering 43 goals. They are riding high after a 10-1 demolition of Guayama on Oct. 19 and an 11-0 victory over Mayaguez on Oct. 11.

In contrast, Taurinos de Cayey sits at 3-5-2 in the league and is coming off a 2-1 loss to Puerto Rico Surf on Oct. 18. Their season has been marked by inconsistency, though they have shown flashes of offensive power with a 7-0 win over DS Edusoccer and a 4-1 victory over Mayaguez.

The previous meeting between these sides on Sept. 6 was a tight affair, with Caguas Sporting edging Taurinos de Cayey 2-1 on the road. That result is indicative of a rivalry that often produces competitive games, despite the gap in the standings.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, another high-scoring, narrow contest is expected, with a projected final score of Caguas Sporting 3, Escuela de Futbol Taurinos de Cayey 2. The simulation suggests Taurinos de Cayey’s attack can challenge Caguas, but the home side’s firepower and league position make them the clear favorite.

Kickoff is set for Saturday at a Caguas venue to be determined.
