SULLANA, Peru (Interstat) — Alianza Atletico secured a 2-1 victory over Alianza Univ in a Peruvian Primera División match on Sunday at Estadio Campeones del 36, defying pregame projections. Substitute Jeremy Canela Torres opened the scoring for the home side in the 13th minute. Hernan Lupu equalized for the visitors in the 51st, but Alianza Atletico’s Jimmy Pérez netted the decisive goal just 12 minutes later. The win gives Alianza Atletico a winning start to the league season, while Alianza Univ begins with a loss.
