LICHINGA, Mozambique (Interstat) — Ferro Lichinga will look to solidify its position in the Moçambola standings when it hosts last-place Textafrica on Monday.

The matchup at Estádio do Ferroviário in Lichinga pits a home side in the hunt for the top of the table against a visiting squad mired in a difficult season. Ferro Lichinga enters the contest with a record of 9-6-5, good for 32 points. Textafrica sits at the bottom of the 16-team league with just 16 points from a 3-11-7 record.

Form heavily favors the hosts. Ferro Lichinga has won three of its last five league matches, including a 3-0 victory over Ferro Nampula in September. The club is looking to rebound from a 4-1 defeat to Songo in its last outing on Oct. 20.

Textafrica, meanwhile, has managed just one win in its last 10 matches across all competitions, a 1-0 victory over Ferroviario Nacala on Sept. 28. The club is coming off a 1-0 loss to Ferro Nampula on Oct. 18 and has been shut out in four of its last five games.

The head-to-head history also points to a low-scoring affair. The teams last met on July 30, with Ferro Lichinga securing a 1-0 away victory. That result is in line with the projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which forecasts a 1-0 win for Ferro Lichinga.
