SAN MARCOS, Guatemala (Interstat) — Rivals Marquense and Municipal will meet Sunday in a Liga Nacional clash at the Estadio Marquesa de la Ensenada, a rematch of Municipal’s decisive 3-0 victory from September.

The visiting Rojos (10-2-3) enter the match in formidable form, riding a three-game winning streak where they have outscored opponents 8-0, including a 3-0 win over Guastatoya on Wednesday. Their potent attack has produced three or more goals in five of their last ten matches, though they have shown vulnerability in away draws and a loss to Mixco.

Conversely, the home side Marquense (4-4-7) is reeling from a 5-0 road defeat to Guastatoya last Sunday. Their form has been inconsistent, with just one win in their last five outings. Their lone bright spot in the recent series was a 1-0 upset of Comunicaciones on Oct. 25.

In the head-to-head series, Municipal has dominated, including the 3-0 win in September. Marquense will be desperate to reverse that trend and find a result in front of their home supporters.

According to the Interstat game simulator, Municipal is projected to extend its winning streak with a 2-1 victory. The match is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025.
