LEUMEAH, Australia (Interstat) — Macarthur and Auckland FC played to a 1-1 draw in an A-League match Monday at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the home side.

Auckland FC’s Lachlan Brook opened the scoring in the 41st minute. Macarthur defender Tomislav Uskok equalized in the 70th minute, assisted by Walter Scott. Uskok also provided the helper on Brook’s earlier goal.

The match featured four yellow cards, issued to Auckland FC’s Francis de Vries and Jesse Randall, and Macarthur’s Scott and Uskok. Both clubs begin their league campaigns with identical 0-0-1 records. Interstat’s pregame model had given Macarthur a 79.6% chance to win.
