LA PLATA, Argentina (Interstat) — Boca Juniors opened its Primera Nacional season with a 2-1 victory over Estudiantes La Plata on Sunday at Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi. The result defied a lopsided pregame projection that heavily favored the visitors.

Substitute Exequiel Zeballos broke the deadlock for Boca Juniors just before halftime.
