Lae City Dwellers vs Blue Kumuls
PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (Interstat) — A matchup of two clubs mired in lengthy winless streaks will take place Saturday when the Lae City Dwellers host the Blue Kumuls in a National Soccer League fixture.
Both teams enter the contest desperate for a positive result. The visiting Blue Kumuls are one of only two teams in the league yet to record a victory this season, sitting at 0-13-3. Their last outing was a 1-1 draw with Kula FC on Oct. 18, which snapped a four-game losing skid.
The Dwellers (6-18-2) have also struggled, carrying a five-match losing streak into the game. Their most recent result was a 2-0 loss to Kula FC on Tuesday. The teams have met once before this season, a 4-0 victory for Lae City over the Blue Kumuls back on Aug. 22.
Despite their poor form, the Dwellers are the heavy favorites. Statistical models project a Lae City victory, with Interstat’s game simulator forecasting a 3-1 final score and its ELO system giving the home side a 59.10 percent probability to win.
The game will be played at a venue to be determined in Lae.
