TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (Interstat) — PFK Paxtakor opened its Super League season with a decisive 4-2 victory over crosstown rival Bunyodkor on Monday at JAR Stadioni. The match defied a projected 1-1 draw, with Paxtakor overcoming an early deficit. Dostonbek Xamdamov opened the scoring for Bunyodkor in the sixth minute, but Paxtakor responded with four unanswered goals from Xojiakbar Alijonov, Ibroxim Ibragimov, Matija Krivokapić and Temurxoʻja Abduxoliqov. Xojimat Erkinov scored a stoppage-time consolation goal for Bunyodkor. Paxtakor began its title defense with a win, while Bunyodkor started the campaign with a loss.
