San Diego FC vs Portland Timbers

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — A surging San Diego FC will look to continue its dominance over the Portland Timbers when the MLS sides meet Sunday at Snapdragon Stadium.

San Diego (27-12-13), sitting near the top of the league table, enters the match after a decisive 4-0 road victory against these same Timbers just eight days ago. That lopsided win at Providence Park highlighted the recent form of both clubs.

Portland (16-14-14) responded from that loss with a 3-1 home win over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, but its form has been inconsistent. The Timbers are 2-3-1 in their last six MLS matches.

The head-to-head series has been a tale of extremes this season. Before last week’s 4-0 result, the teams played to a scoreless draw in San Diego on Aug. 23. Portland, however, handed San Diego a 3-0 defeat in a February meeting.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for the home side, a prediction that aligns with San Diego’s strong home record and potent attack. San Diego’s overall record across all competitions stands at 30-16-13, while Portland is 23-19-15.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Oct. 26.
