Phila Union vs Chicago Fire

CHESTER, Pa. (Interstat) — The Philadelphia Union, boasting the league’s best record, will host the Chicago Fire on Sunday in a Major League Soccer regular-season finale with significant playoff implications.

The Union (27-8-7, 88 points) have dominated the Eastern Conference and will look to rebound from a surprising 2-0 road loss to Charlotte FC last Saturday, which snapped a strong run of form. Prior to that defeat, Philadelphia had won three consecutive matches, outscoring opponents 8-0.

Conversely, the Chicago Fire (18-16-9, 63 points) are fighting to solidify their postseason positioning. They enter the match unbeaten in their last five outings (3-0-2), including a 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution on Oct. 18.

This matchup, however, has been decidedly one-sided this season. The Union have won all three meetings against the Fire in 2025, including a pair of emphatic 4-0 victories on Aug. 23. Philadelphia also secured a 1-0 win in Chicago on June 25.

Despite Philadelphia’s commanding head-to-head record, the Interstat game simulator projects a tighter contest, forecasting a 1-1 draw. The Union will be heavily favored at Subaru Park, where they have been nearly unstoppable this season.

The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Oct. 26.
