VIENTIANE, Laos (Interstat) — Master 7 and Mazda Laos GB FC played to a 1-1 draw in their Lao League opener Saturday at Stadium, KM16.

The match defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Master 7 a slight edge to win and simulated a 2-1 victory for the visitors. The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute when Mazda Laos GB FC’s Alao Hyonsu scored on a header. Master 7 found an equalizer later in the second half to share the points.

The result leaves both teams with identical records to start the league campaign: 0 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw. Their overall records across all competitions also mirror each other after the season’s first match.
