Kenya Commercial Bank FC vs Posta Rangers FC

NAIROBI, Kenya (Interstat) — Kenya Commercial Bank FC hosts Posta Rangers FC on Saturday in a Kenyan Premier League clash that pits two sides heading in opposite directions.

Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at the KCB Sports Club ground.

KCB enters with momentum after a 2-2 draw against Bandari on May 10, a result that snapped a two-match losing streak. The bankers had fallen 1-0 at AP’s Bomet on May 6 and 3-2 at home to Ulinzi Stars on April 18. Overall, KCB has alternated wins and losses in recent weeks, with victories over Bidco United (1-0 on April 5) and Mara Sugar (1-0 on March 28) mixed with defeats to Police (2-1) and Gor Mahia (2-1 and 3-0).

Posta Rangers, by contrast, are riding a high. The mailmen routed Sofapaka 3-0 on May 11, their first win in five league outings. Before that, they had drawn 0-0 with Bandari, lost 3-0 to AP’s Bomet, fell 1-0 to Mara Sugar, and lost 2-0 to Homeboyz. The victory over Sofapaka was a relief for a side that had managed just one goal in its previous four matches.

In the head-to-head series, KCB holds the edge. The bankers won the most recent meeting 1-0 on Jan. 20, a result that extended their dominance in a fixture typically low‑scoring. Posta Rangers’ last win over KCB came more than a year ago.

Both teams sit midtable, though KCB’s slightly better form — two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five — gives them a slight advantage. The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-0 win for the home side.

Posta Rangers will look to build on their May 11 rout. Forward David Ochieng scored twice in that match and has been the team’s most dangerous attacker. KCB will rely on midfielder John Kiprop to control the tempo and create chances for striker Vincent Ochieng.

Saturday’s match is the first of a busy stretch for both clubs. After this, KCB travels to Shabana on May 30, while Posta Rangers hosts Ulinzi Stars on the same date.

KCB will be without suspended defender Peter Mwangi, who picked up his fifth yellow card against Bandari. Posta Rangers have no suspensions but are monitoring midfielder Kevin Simiyu, who has a minor hamstring issue.

The referee will be George Ochieng.

Kickoff is 4 p.m. local time.
