Posta Rangers FC vs Sofapaka

NAIROBI, Kenya (Interstat) — Posta Rangers FC hosts Sofapaka on Monday in a FKF Premier League matchup, aiming to snap a recent losing streak to their visitors.

The game at Nairobi’s venue pits two mid-table sides searching for consistency. Posta Rangers enter the match having drawn 0-0 at Bandari FC on May 2, their first point in four outings after losses to AP’s Bomet FC, Mara Sugar FC and Homeboyz. Posta Rangers’ lone win in their last five came March 22 against Kariobangi Sharks. They scored just three goals in that span.

Sofapaka carries a winless run of 11 matches into Monday. Their most recent outing, a 2-2 draw at Mathare United on May 2, ended a streak of eight games without a goal. Sofapaka last won Feb. 15 against Murang’a SEAL but have lost five times and drawn six since. The side has scored only five goals during its 11-match skid.

The teams last met Nov. 10, 2025, when Sofapaka won 2-0 at Posta Rangers. Monday’s contest marks the only scheduled meeting this season. A game simulator by Interstat projects a 1-1 draw.

Sofapaka’s recent scoring drought has been stark. Before the draw at Mathare United, Sofapaka went unbeaten but failed to score in eight consecutive games, including a 0-0 tie with Bandari FC on April 3 and a 0-0 draw at Tusker FC on April 18. The club has been shut out in nine of its last 11.

Posta Rangers have not won at home since a 2-1 victory over Kariobangi Sharks on March 22. The club has allowed nine goals in its past five matches, including a 5-1 loss to Leopards on March 1 and a 3-0 defeat to AP’s Bomet FC on April 19. Posta Rangers also drew 1-1 with Bidco United on April 24.

Friday’s result against Mathare United gave Sofapaka a rare multi-goal performance. Striker Eric Ochieng scored both goals in the draw. Sofapaka has struggled to generate offense without injured forward Ibrahim Omondi, who has missed the last four matches.

Posta Rangers midfielder Brian Otieno returns from suspension Monday. His presence could provide midfield stability after the club’s defense conceded two or more goals in four of its last six matches. Goalkeeper Ian Otieno has made 12 saves over the past three games.

Sofapaka enters ranked 13th in the 18-team league. Posta Rangers sit two spots above in 11th.

Following Monday, Sofapaka hosts Shabana on May 16 before traveling to Kariobangi Sharks on May 30. Posta Rangers visits Nairobi United FC on May 16 and also faces Kenya Commercial Bank FC on the same day, then hosts Ulinzi Stars FC on May 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time.
