Sofapaka vs Bidco Utd
NAIROBI, Kenya (Interstat) — Two sides desperate to reverse prolonged winless streaks will meet Saturday when Sofapaka hosts Bidco United in a Kenyan FKF Premier League fixture.
The match at a Nairobi area stadium pits teams mired in significant scoring droughts. Sofapaka, the home side, has not won in its last five league matches, earning just two points over that stretch. Its most recent result was a 0-0 draw with Kariobangi Sharks on Dec. 22.
Bidco United’s struggles are more pronounced. The visiting club has failed to win in its last 10 league outings, a run stretching back to late October. More alarmingly, Bidco has been shut out in nine of those ten matches, including a 1-0 home loss to AFC Leopards on Dec. 23. Its last victory was a 2-1 win over Ulinzi Stars on Oct. 29.
Statistical projections highlight the contest’s tight nature. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw. However, its ELO rating system gives Sofapaka a 63.3% probability of securing all three points, likely influenced by home advantage and Bidco’s acute offensive struggles.
Both teams have found goals exceptionally hard to come by. Sofapaka has scored only once in its last five matches. Bidco’s lone goal in its last 10 games was in its sole victory nearly three months ago, meaning it has now gone nine consecutive matches without scoring.
The fixture offers a critical opportunity for either club to build momentum ahead of a packed January schedule. Following this match, Sofapaka will travel to face Shabana on Jan. 17. Bidco United’s next assignment is a trip to Murang’a SEAL on Jan. 18.
The teams will meet again in the reverse fixture on Friday, March 13, at Bidco United’s ground.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time Saturday.
