NAIROBI, Kenya (Interstat) — Mathare United and Sofapaka will meet Monday in an FKF Premier League match with both sides seeking to rebound from recent scoreless outings.

The game at a Nairobi area stadium pits a Mathare United team coming off a 0-0 draw at Bidco United on Friday against a Sofapaka side that fell 2-0 at home to Tusker FC on Sunday.

Recent form has been a struggle for the visitors. Sofapaka has managed just one win in its last eight league matches, a 2-0 victory over Posta Rangers on Nov. 10. That slump includes four losses and three draws, leaving the team eager to rediscover its early-season form from October.

Mathare United has found results slightly harder to come by, with only two wins in its last ten outings. However, one of those was a convincing 2-0 win at Homeboyz on Nov. 15, demonstrating a capable defense. Their most recent home match ended in a 1-0 loss to Mara Sugar FC on Dec. 8.

Statistical projections present a conflicting outlook. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw. Yet, the same service’s ELO rating system gives Mathare United a 63.9% probability of winning the match outright.

The result could hinge on which attack breaks through. Sofapaka has been shut out in three of its last four matches. Mathare United has failed to score in five of its last ten but will look to capitalize on home advantage.

Following Monday’s clash, Sofapaka faces a quick turnaround, hosting Kariobangi Sharks next Friday. Mathare United travels to face Bandari FC next Sunday.

The FKF Premier League matchup is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 15, 2025.
