TERNOPIL, Ukraine (Interstat) — Pod Khmelnytskyi delivered a major upset Friday, defeating Ternopilsky PFC Nyva 1-0 in a Persha Liga match at Stadion Mis’kyj. The game’s only goal came from Pavlo Savchuk in the 69th minute. The result defied pregame projections from Interstat, which gave the home side an 84 percent probability to win and had simulated a 1-0 victory for Nyva. Both teams opened their league seasons with the match, leaving Pod Khmelnytskyi and Ternopilsky PFC Nyva with matching records in the Ukrainian competition.
