FARO, Portugal (Interstat) — Farense delivered a dominant performance Sunday, defeating Silves 5-1 in a Taça de Portugal match at Estádio de São Lúis. The home side’s offense proved overwhelming, scoring five unanswered goals after Silves opened the scoring with a goal from Rui Costa in the 16th minute. The victory extends Farense’s perfect record in the competition to 4-0, while Silves fell to 3-1. The final score easily surpassed a statistical projection that had favored Farense to win by a narrower margin.
