ARKADAG, Turkmenistan (Interstat) — FK Arkadag will look to continue its domestic dominance and a one-sided rivalry when it hosts Nebitci in a Ýokary Liga match on Thursday.

The matchup pits the league’s reigning force against a struggling side that has shown recent, if inconsistent, signs of life. Arkadag enters as a heavy favorite, having outscored Nebitci 12-1 across three meetings this season. The most recent was a staggering 8-1 away victory on Aug. 11.

Arkadag sits atop the league table and is in formidable form. The club has won four consecutive matches, including a 1-0 victory at Asgabat on Dec. 11 and a 2-0 win over title rival Altyn Asyr on Dec. 7. Its defense has been particularly stout, recording clean sheets in three of its last four outings.

Nebitci, meanwhile, has endured a difficult season but snapped a three-game losing skid with a 2-1 home victory over Koepetdag Asgabat on Dec. 11. That win followed losses to Ahal (3-0) and Altyn Asyr (3-0), highlighting the team’s volatility. Its record shows an inability to consistently compete with the league’s elite, having been outscored 14-0 by Arkadag and Altyn Asyr in four combined matches this fall.

The head-to-head history is overwhelmingly lopsided. Beyond this season’s trio of wins, Arkadag has not lost to Nebitci in their last seven encounters dating back to 2024. The venue offers little respite for the visitors; Nebitci fell 3-0 in its last trip to Arkadag’s stadium on May 14.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the trend is expected to continue with a projected final score of Arkadag 3, Nebitci 0.

Thursday’s contest will be a test of Nebitci’s resilience after its morale-boosting win last week, but it faces perhaps the toughest challenge in Turkmen football: slowing down an Arkadag attack that averages four goals per game against them this year. For Arkadag, it is a chance to further cement its supremacy and maintain momentum heading into the league’s final stretch.
