Van vs Gandzasar

YEREVAN, Armenia (Interstat) — Van and Gandzasar will meet Sunday in an Armenian Premier League match with both sides looking to build on rare recent victories.

The game is scheduled for Nov. 9.

Van (4-6-1) enters as the home team after a dramatic 3-2 road win against Shirak on Nov. 2. That result snapped a three-game losing streak for a club that has struggled for consistency.

Gandzasar (2-7-2) also broke a lengthy winless run, defeating Alashkert 1-0 on Nov. 3. That was its first league victory since a 1-0 win over this same Van squad on Sept. 12. That head-to-head result gives the visitors a psychological edge, though their overall form remains poor with five losses in their last eight league matches.

Statistically, the clubs are closely matched. Van has scored 12 goals and conceded 22 in league play, while Gandzasar has scored just 7 goals while allowing 15. Both teams have identical 4-7-1 records across all competitions this season.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, a result that would provide each team with a hard-earned point.

Following this match, Van will next host Yerevan on Nov. 23. Gandzasar’s next league fixture is a road match at Shirak on Nov. 22.
