Pyunik vs Ararat-Armenia
YEREVAN, Armenia (Interstat) — A pivotal Armenian Premier League derby is set for Tuesday as Pyunik hosts rival Ararat-Armenia in a clash of title contenders.
The match at Pyunik’s home ground comes just days after both sides played to draws. Ararat-Armenia (8-3-2) enters with momentum from a 2-1 victory over Ararat last Friday, extending its unbeaten run to five matches. Pyunik (7-4-2) is looking to rebound after a 1-1 draw with Urartu.
The visitors have been formidable on the road this season, with a record of 4-1-1 in away matches. Their attack has been potent, averaging over two goals per game during their current unbeaten streak. Pyunik, however, boasts a strong home record of 4-2-1 and has shown defensive solidity, conceding just one goal in its last three home fixtures.
Historically, these matches are tightly contested. The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, a result that would see the clubs remain near the top of the table.
Following the derby, Pyunik is scheduled to host Ararat on Nov. 30, while Ararat-Armenia will welcome Shirak the same day.
