Sloboda Tuzla vs Zeljeznicar
TUZLA, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Interstat) — A storied Bosnian football rivalry will be renewed Wednesday when Sloboda Tuzla hosts Zeljeznicar in a Cup in Bosnia and Herzegovina match.
The fixture at Tušanj City Stadium pits a Zeljeznicar side enjoying a stronger overall campaign against a Sloboda Tuzla team looking to rebound from a disappointing domestic cup upset.
Zeljeznicar enters the cup tie with a 6-3-5 record across all competitions this season. They are unbeaten in their last three matches, including a 1-1 draw with Rudar Prijedor on Saturday and a 1-0 victory over Posusje on Oct. 18. Their form has been inconsistent, however, with wins against top-flight opponents like FK Sarajevo mixed with losses to lower-table sides.
Sloboda Tuzla’s form is a greater concern. The club holds a 3-4-4 overall record and is coming off a 1-0 loss to lower-league side Stupcanica Olovo in a different cup competition on Sunday. That defeat followed a 2-0 home loss to Buducnost Banovici on Oct. 11, highlighting recent struggles at home.
According to the Interstat game simulator, Zeljeznicar is projected to advance with a 3-1 victory. Both teams are 0-0 in this season’s cup competition.
The winner will advance in the domestic cup, while Sloboda Tuzla will quickly turn its focus back to league play, visiting Jedinstvo Bihac on Sunday.
