QUITO, Ecuador (Interstat) — Two sides locked in an identical Liga Pro struggle will meet Saturday when Técnico Universitario hosts Mushuc Runa.

The matchup at Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado features two teams with matching 7-15-7 records in Ecuador’s top flight, leaving them near the bottom of the table. The statistical service Interstat projects a 1-1 draw.

Técnico Univ. enters with momentum from a 2-1 victory over C.A. 9 de Octubre on Oct. 26. That result snapped a three-match winless streak in league play for the home side.

Mushuc Runa, meanwhile, is coming off a 1-1 draw with Manta on Oct. 25. Their recent form has been mixed, with one win, two draws, and one loss in their last four Liga Pro contests.

The head-to-head record this season slightly favors Técnico Univ. The home side earned a 1-0 victory at Mushuc Runa on July 27. The previous meeting on April 6 ended in a 1-1 draw in Quito.

With both teams desperate for points to improve their standing, Saturday’s contest is poised to be a tightly contested battle between two evenly matched squads.
